Why deal with us instead of a national company? Three reasons - Price, Choice and Aftercare. Compared to dealing with most of the national companies you could reduce the purchase cost of hearing aids by 20-50%, that can equate to a very substantial saving. Also, most of the national suppliers supply from a very limited number of manufacturers, and even then not the full range of hearing aids available from the manufacturers they use. We supply the full range from all the manufacturers available in the UK. This, along with the Discount Hearing Aids commitment to excellent aftercare makes us the number one choice.

St Helens is a large town in Merseyside, England. It is
the largest settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens with a
population of just over 100,000, part of an urban area with a total
population of 176,843 at the time of the 2001 Census. The Town was
officially incorporated as a Municipal Borough in 1868 responsible for the
administration of the 4 townships Ecclestone, Parr, Sutton and Windle, with
the larger responsibility as a County Borough established in 1887
(superseded in 1974 by the larger Metropolitan Borough).
St Helens is situated in the far south west of the historic county of
Lancashire, in North West England, 6 miles (9.7 km) north of the River
Mersey. This portion of the county was at least partially settled by the
Celtic Brigantes who were subsequently subjugated by the Romans in the 1st
Century, with nearby Wigan suggested as a location for the Roman settlement
of Coccium. No archaeological evidence has yet been uncovered to tie either
group specifically to the St Helens area, though Eccleston derives its name
from either the Latin Ecclesia or Welsh Eglwys suggesting a common link to a
church (though none are known in the township until the 1800s).
A former mill town, textiles have been produced in St. Helens since the
middle of the 13th century, when wool was woven in people's houses in the
domestic system. Flemish weavers who settled in the area during the 14th
century helped to develop the woollen cottage industry in the region. James
Hargreaves, inventor of the spinning jenny, was a weaver in St. Helens. The
most rapid period of growth and development in St. Helens's history coincided
with the industrialisation and expansion of textile manufacturing. St. Helens
was a boomtown of the Industrial Revolution, and amongst the first
industrialised towns in the world.
St. Helens's textile sector fell into a terminal decline from the mid-20th
century. St. Helens has subsequently faced similar challenges to other
post-industrial northern towns, including deindustrialisation, economic
deprivation and housing issues. Since the 1950s the town has experienced
significant levels of migration, particularly from India and Pakistan, and
consequently has the third highest proportion of Muslims (c.25%) in England
and Wales and the highest in the United Kingdom outside London. St. Helens
has had significant investment and redevelopment in the past 60 years by
monies from government and the European Regional Development Fund.
