Oticon Acto Pro | Discount Hearing Aids

March 25th, 2011 by Paul Minikin

Oticon Acto / Acto Pro – Wireless coordination for balanced sound in both ears. Oticon Acto instruments use wireless communication to provide a balanced, coordinated response in both ears.

Systems such as TriState Noise Management and Dynamic Feedback Cancellation protect you from noise and minimise whistling sounds. Meanwhile the Multi-band Adaptive Directionality system dampens any noise coming from the sides and behind, to help you focus on the speech you want to hear.

When wearing hearing instruments, activities such as using the phone and watching TV can be difficult. Phones can make your instruments whistle, and the TV sound gets mixed up with surrounding sounds. Oticon ConnectLine telephone and TV adapters help you bypass these problems by sending the signal straight to your ears. This fully integrated system is easy to control via the Oticon Streamer remote control unit.

Oticon Acto comes in a variety of styles – from In-the-Ear to Behind-the-Ear models. BTE models come in seven attractive colours to match your personal taste, and can be equipped with a soft earpiece that sits comfortably inside your ear canal. This earpiece is connected to a super-thin transparent tube that is virtually invisible. Depending on your hearing loss and ear anatomy, your hearing care professional will recommend the style that suits you best.

Oticon Agil Pro By Discount Hearing Aids

March 25th, 2011 by Paul Minikin

Oticon Agil / Agil Pro launched in March 2010 as a direct replacement for the Oticon Epoq range of hearing aids, the XW, W and V based on the RISE chip. The Agil and Agil Pro are based on the new improved RISE2 chip with substantial improvements on the older technology.

The Agil Pro has been designed to take the hard work out of hearing in challenging noisy environments, for you to be aware of the sounds around you and make sense of and focus on the sounds you want to hear.

Oticon Agil devices aren’t like ordinary instruments that provide uncoordinated inputs into each ear. Oticon Agils actually communicate with each other to present a single, balanced picture for your brain to process.

In a nutshell Oticon Agil Pro aims to offer ‘improved conversation with less effort’. The three main concepts to achieve this are as follows;

Spatial Sound 2.0 – This feature helps you organise sounds, know where they come from and make sense of your surroundings. You will also be able to select the person or sound source you want to listen to, and ignore those you don’t.

Speech Guard – dramatically improves your ability to follow conversations in complex environments. A person’s voice is as individual as that person and Speech Guard preserves many of the subtle characteristics like their particular pitch and tone or the way syllables are stressed. This means that even when there are many sounds in the background, the Oticon Agil Pro will make it easier for you to select and follow the voice you wish, and even to switch attention from one person to another. Speech Guard also eliminates sudden noises, like the slamming of a car door or someone chopping vegetables.

Oticon ConnectLine delivers sound directly to your ears from your TV, landline and mobile phones, and audio devices like music players and personal computers. Oticon Agil Pro makes use of the Oticon Streamer and other Connectline devices to wirelessly send audio to your hearing aids.

The Oticon Agil Pro is one of the most capable premium products available on the market at this time.

Oticon Dual By Discount Hearing Aids

March 23rd, 2011 by Paul Minikin

Oticon Dual – When you’re active and outgoing, you need a flexible hearing aid that offers the best sound quality in a wide variety of listening situations.

Conventional hearing aids force you to choose: Great looks or great performance. But why make that choice at all? With its high-tech elegance and the benefits of natural sound quality, Oticon Dual is designed to please inside and out.

While standard devices work independently, a pair of Oticon Duals works together and present sounds in a balanced and natural way. We call this Spatial Sound. Spatial Sound is to hearing devices what high-definition digital imaging is to TVs.

Extra ‘audio pixels’ provide so much detail that you can locate and identify sounds without having to think twice about it. Your reactions will be faster and more instinctive.

With Oticon Dual your life will no longer be ruled by your hearing loss. You will be in charge once more.
